Australia is renowned for advanced technologies and bright technical ideas. Every day we see more and more of these ideas and concepts are bought, acquired or moved off shore so that their full potential can be realised.
Those unlucky ones are usually buried in their own pile of internal bureaucracy and sluggish operations with exponential cash-burn rates and disappear as fast as they appeared. Somewhere down the track, they must have been steered away from the core activities (which was to design a potential sellable product).
Often the excitement of being able to make a fantastic product pursue organisations to decide prematurely on building a complex structure that later on haunt them to failure. The idea is great, the product has massive potentials, the proof of technology is on hand; and then suddenly everything halts. This has been (more than often) the story of many great ideas in today’s aggressive superior technical product war – failed even before it was conceived.
There are many factors involved however some are more crucial than others such as:
A successful business makes sure that their focus remains unsteered throughout the organisation’s life. Utilising what they do best rather than involving in other activities till the right moment. Even then, a careful consideration must be given to the extent of involvement making sure that it won’t affect the core business activity.
